Abstract : This Technical Note presents the results of a large set of laboratory$\backslash$ntests; and tries to determine the conditions that ensure the existence$\backslash$nof a water cushion that is not expelled by the impingement of a nappe$\backslash$n(effective cushion). Second, values of mean dynamic pressures at the$\backslash$nstagnation point of nonsymmetric plunge pools downstream of arch dams$\backslash$nare assessed.
