Abstract : The present invention relates to integrated cantilevers, micro-bridges or micromembranes in microliq. handling systems. Such microliq. handling systems provide novel detection mechanisms for monitoring the phys., chem. and biol. properties of fluids in such systems. The present invention further relates to microcantilever, microbridge or micromembrane type sensors having integrated readout. Such constructions allow laminated flows of different liqs. to flow in a channel without mixing, which opens up for new type of expts. and which reduces noise related to the liq. movement. The present invention even further relates to sensors having adjacent or very closely spaced microcantilevers, micro-bridges or micromembranes which can be exposed to different chem. environments at the same time.
